Western Engineering Toboggan Team: Designing a Concrete Sled
I was part of an engineering team competing in the Great Northern Concrete Toboggan Race (GNCTR). An annual event that challenges the creativity of engineering students across Canada. The basic premise of the competition is to build a toboggan with a concrete running surface, load it with five teammates, and race it down a snowy hill as quickly as possible. We are judged in several categories: shortest race time, best overall design, best team spirit, and best overall team.
I was responsible for modeling and testing the frame in SolidWorks. I dealt directly with the metal fabrication company and was responsible for delivery of parts.
