My team showcasing our world: Electrotechno Corp
Building Virtual Worlds' is one of the required courses during the first semester at the Entertainment Technology Center. The goal of this class is to take students with varying talents, backgrounds, and perspectives and put us together to do what we could not do alone. Everyone shares in the mechanical creation of the worlds. We used 3D modeling software (Maya/3ds Max), painting software (Photoshop), sound editing software (Adobe Audition & Pro Tools), and Unity3D, to display our virtual reality worlds. The course uses unique platforms such as the Head-Mounted Display and Trackers, Microsoft Kinect, Touch Screens, camera-based audience interaction techniques, Motion Capture, among others. The annual BVW Festival is the culminating event that showcases the best worlds throughout the semester in a live theater production.

Description: Players battle an evil villain, Dr Sinister who is attacking the city with his Giganto-ray! Players must work together to reach the villain dodging his monsters that lay in their path. Role: 3D Artist, Actor Duration: 3 weeks Software: 3ds Max, Maya Platform: Wii Remotes Team members: 4 Description: An actor triggers video scenes in response to his actions in a story about his interactions with a homeless man. Role: Director of Photography Duration: 2 weeks Software: Unity Platform: Kinect Team members: 4 Description: Made in one week, the lightning round, this game allows players to connect with each other via there mobile phones in a race against time. The objective of the game is to survive from the pack of wolves by staying close together and entering the pens. The lone sheep, then gets eaten by the wolves. The numbers on the sheep represent the player's phone number.
